History
The Decoration for the 400th Anniversary of the Polish Postal Service was established by the Council of Ministers in 1958 in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the Polish postal service. It was administered by the Minister of Communications until it was permanently discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989.
It was awarded to employees of the Ministry of Communications and other Polish citizens who contributed to the postal service and communications in Poland in recognition of at least 10 years of meritorious service. It could also be awarded in absence of this service requirement, but only under exceptional circumstances.
The Gold Decoration features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "400 Years of the Polish Postal Service."
