History
The honorary title of Meritorious Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Polish People's Republic was established by the Council of State in 1985. It was permanently discontinued in 1992 following the collapse of the communist regime.
It was conferred upon Polish astronauts in recognition of missions to outer space. Only one badge was awarded to Miroslaw Hermaszewski.
The Silver Badge features initials on the obverse that stand for "Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa" (Polish People's Republic) and an additional inscription that translates to "Pilot-Cosmonaut."
