History
The Decoration for Merit to Communications was established by the Council of Ministers in 1996 and was later amended in 2001. It is based on the Decoration for Meritorious Communications Workers awarded in the Polish People’s Republic. It is currently awarded to employees of the Ministry of Communications for meritorious service, as well as to other government workers and private-sector employees in recognition of outstanding contributions to the development of communications technology.
There are two versions of the Gold Decoration that differ in inscription. Both versions feature an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Merit to Communications," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to "Republic of Poland," but the first version features an additional reverse inscription that translates to "Minister of Communications."
