History

The Order of the Military Cross was established by the Republic of Poland in 2006. It is conferred in recognition of bravery and sacrifice while fighting terrorism in Poland, or abroad during foreign deployments of the Armed Forces in peacetime.

The Knight is conferred upon military personnel, civilians, or entire military units in recognition of acts of bravery performed in combat.

The Knight features a reverse inscription that translates to "Soldier for the Homeland."
