History


The Order of Education Merit was established in 2000. It is conferred upon Romanian citizens and foreigners in recognition of meritorious service in the field of education.

Membership in the Commander grade is limited to 1400 members.

The Commander is identical to the Grand Officer, however, only the Grand Officer is worn with a Breast Star.

The Commander features a reverse inscription that translates to "For Merit in Education."
