History

The medal was conferred in commemoration of Sultan Abdulmecid signing the "Gulhane Hatt-I Humayunu" document, which limits the power of the Sultan and guarantees general human rights for the citizens of the Ottoman Empire.

The title of this medal is translated as the Medal of Auspicious Reforms.
