History

The Medal for Heroic Loyalty of Trasmontada was created in Portugal on June 28, 1823. It was founded to reward the troops belonging to the Trasmontada Division that rose up against the constitutional monarchy of 1820-1823.

The Medal was awarded with two grades based on the rank of the recipient; Gold Medal was awarded to General Officers, while the Silver Medal was awarded to Inferiors Officers.

There are known several versions that differ on their designs.
