A circular medal constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse bears the portrait of Alfonso XII encompassed by palm and laurel, the reverse bears the inscription LA CIUDAD DE LA HABANA CELEBRA CON GRANDES FESTEJOS EL ADVENIMIENTO AL TRONO DE S.M. EL REY DON ALFONSO XII. Y PARA MEMORIA HACE ACUNAR ESTA MEDALLA, XXIII DE ENERO DE MDCCCLV, with a crown and loop for suspension, on a red and yellow striped ribbon.
