Physical Description

A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears a cross overlaid with a shield bearing a coat of arms, encompassed by a border inscribed with AL MERITO CIVIL FILIPINAS, the reverse bears the image of a shield with a ship on the seas in the center, topped with a crown, encompassed by a border inscribed with POR S.M.EL REY / EL GOBERNADOR GENERAL, on a light blue ribbon.
