Physical Description

A circular medal constructed of bronze, the obverse bears a Geneva cross encompassed by a wreath of palm and laurel, topped with a royal crown, the reverse bears the inscription CAMPANAS Y REPATRIACION DE / L CRUZ ROJA ESPANOLA 1895-1899, with an oak leaf wreath suspension, on a red and white ribbon.

History

The Red Cross Medal for Cuba and Philippines Campaign was established by Royal Decree on September 26, 1899. The medal commemorated the service of the Red Cross in the Cuba and Philippines Campaigns.
