History


The Medal for Porrera was founded in Spain by the General Courts on August 4, 1823. It was awarded to the villagers of Porrera for their outstanding actions in the defense of the village against Royalist Forces in 1823.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "To the Brave Defenders of Porrera,"and a reverse inscription that depicts "July 11, 1822."
