Issued 1841. In bronze gilt with finely executed white, yellow, and green enamels, measuring 32 mm (w) x 35 mm (h - inclusive of horizontally pierced integral ball suspension), hand etched edging, hand painted lettering, an old, later period ribbon, extremely fine.
History
The Cross for Cheste was authorized in Spain by the regency of Baldomero Espartero on August 5, 1841. It was conferred upon the military personnel that participated in the battle of Cheste against Carlists troops on December 2, 1838.
The Cross features an obverse inscription that translates"To Patriotism."
