History
The Cross for Mendigorria was established in Spain by the Regency of Maria Christina on September 23, 1835. It was conferred upon the members of the North Operations Army who participated in the battle of Mendigorria on July 16, 1835.
The Cross was authorized with two grades. The Gold Cross was awarded to Generals and Officers, while the Silver Medal was awarded to enlisted men.
The Cross features an obverse inscription that translates to "Isabel 2nd Reward to Valor," and a reverse inscription that translates to "The Queen to her Liberators Mendigorria July 16, 1835."
