History

The Cross for Solsona was established in Spain by the regency of Maria Christina, in recognition of the courage and constancy of the military personnel under the command of General Baron de Meer, who besieged, and took control over the city of Solsona against Carlists force between 21st and 27th of July, 1838.

The Cross was authorized in Gold to be awarded to Generals and Officers, while that in Silver was awarded to enlisted men.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "Site and Attack of Solsona," and a reverse inscription that translates to "July 23, 1838."
