History
The Cross for the Liberators of Bilbao, Third Site was authorized in Spain by the Regency of Maria Christina on January 3, 1837. It was conferred upon the individuals who supported to the city of Bilbao during its third siege of Carlists force in 1836.
The Cross has two grades. The Gold Cross was awarded to Generals and Officers, while the Silver Cross was awarded to enlisted men.
The Cross features an obverse inscription that translates to "He Saved Bilbao," and reverse inscription that translates to "Bilbao's Third Siege 1836."
