History
The Medal for the Martyrs of Almería was authorized in Spain by the Regency of Baldomero Espartero on August 25, 1841. It was conferred upon those who survived of the failed declaration of the Cádiz Constitution at Almería in 1824.
The Breast Star features an obverse inscription that translates "Martyrs of the Freedom in San Bartolomé Almeria 1824," and the center medallion depicts an inscription that stands to "Freedom or Death (LóM.)"
