The Cross of Abisbal, Palamós, and San Feliú was founded in Spain by Royal Decree on July 2, 1817. It was awarded in recognition of the honor and bravery of the members of General O'Donnell's expedition, who surprised French troops that were laying siege the cities of Abisbal, San Feliú, and Palamós in Spain on September 13, 1808.
