History
The Medal for the Battle of Vich was established on May 4, 1810 by the Supreme Junta of Catalonia. It was awarded to Spanish soldiers in recognition of the outstanding actions at the Battle of Vich on February 20, 1810.
Two different grades of this Medal were authorized. The I Class Medal was conferred upon Officers and Chiefs who were around fifty men. The II Class Medal was awarded to the troops, and there were made one hundred of them.
The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Distinguished Courage, Battle of Vich," and a reverse inscription that translates to "February 20, 1810."
