History

The Medal for the Army of Cataluña was authorized in Spain in 1810. It was conferred upon all members of the Army of Catalonia in recognition of military merits obtained during the defense of the province of Catalonia against the Napoleonic troops in the Peninsular War.

There were made three-hundred and ten Medals.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "Army of Catalonia, Campaign of 1810," and a reverse inscription that translates to "Gratitude of the Fatherland to Distinguished Courage."
