History

The Order of Arts and Letters of Spain (Orden de las Artes y las Letras de España) was founded by decree of July 24, 2008. It is conferred upon foreign and national individuals, groups, and corporations, in recognition of exemplary dedication and commitment to the development of the Spanish culture and arts.

The Order was designed by Antoni Tapies, and it consists of an abstract design.
