Established by King Gustaf VI Adolf, in commemoration of King Gustaf V, this Medal was conferred upon Royal Family, and members of the Royal Household.

This Medal was conferred with an associated clasp that reads "1858 GUSTAF V 1950."

According to official documents, 303 medals were awarded.

The obverse inscription translates to "Gustaf V, King of Sweden."
