The obverse of the 1st Division Under Arms Christmas Medal 1939 illustrating a kneeling Swiss soldier, a sword of his left hip, his right arm securing an axe over his right shoulder, backed by a circular beaded frame.

The reverse shows a Swiss cross in the centre and inscribed "NOEL 1939", surrounded by the inscription "1re DIVISION / SOVS LES ARMES".
