History
The medal was instituted by Emperor Franz Joseph I in 1908 and awarded on October 5, 1909 to celebrate the first year anniversary of the unification of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Empire.
It was conferred upon citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina that were working as public servants, military personnel within the 15th Army Corps, and employees and Officials of the Royal Ministry.
This medal was designed by Richard Placht, and minyed at the Kremnitz and Vienna Mints.
