History

The Decoration for the 50th Anniversary of the Belgian Telegraph System was established by Royal Decree on September 1, 1896, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the first Belgian telegraph line.

The I Class Cross was awarded to civil servants and employees, as well as retired civil servants and employees, in recognition of at least 25 years of meritorious service and cooperation in the construction or service of the telegraphic network in Belgium.
