The Medal for the Resistance Against Nazism in the Annexed Territories was awarded to individuals living in German-speaking areas of Belgium who actively opposed Nazism during the Second World War. The recipients included political prisoners, prisoners of war, participants of clandestine activities, and members of the resistance. It was also awarded to those who deserted after being forced to join the German Armed Forces or German Labour Force.
The medal was awarded on different ribbons to denote different activities. A blue ribbon with yellow stripes was awarded to those who deserted forced German enlistment, a blue ribbon with red stripes was awarded to those who fled the region, and a blue ribbon with white stripes was awarded to all other recipients.
The obverse inscription translates to "Loyalty to Belgium."
