History

This Order is conferred in recognition of great contributions to the independence, integrity, and international reputation of the Republic of Croatia and its relationships with other countries.

It is awarded to Croatian and foreign ministerial level officials, as well as other highly ranked officials.

This Order is named after Trpimir who was the Duke of the Croats during the 9th century. During his reign he would defend his duchy from Byzantine and Bulgarian incursions.
