Established by King Frederik IX, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of King Christian X's birth, this medal was awarded to recognize members of the Royal family and Royal servants who served King Christian X.

This Medal was awarded with an associated clasp on it's ribbon that reads, "1870 - 26 SEPT - 1970".
