History

The Medal was instituted on August 6, 1918 and is awarded to participants of the battle of Tampere in 1918.

The Finnish Name of the medal is "Tampereen muistomitali".

The circular silvered metal medal imposed on a cross pattée with loop for ribbon suspension.

The observe shows the head and shoulders of a soldier in peaked cap.
The right arm held defensively across his chest, a sword in the hand and in the lower background are the arms of Tampere. It is encircled by a ring with the date "1918". The reverse is plain.
