History
This cross was instituted in 1968 and awarded to civil guard veterans of the War of Independence, Winter War or the Continuation War.
The blue enamel cross with loop for ribbon suspension has on the face a spruce branches between the lateral and upper arms of the cross. On the upper arm of the cross is a white enamel "S" (for Suojeluskunta = Civil Guards) in the center and an upright sword imposed. The reverse is plain with maker’s mark "VELJEKSET SUNDQVIST", Finnish for "Sunqvist Brothers of Helsinki".
The ribbon may be decorated with a clasp reading, "1917-1918".
