History
The cross were instituted on 1940 and was awarded to military who fought in Finnish Lapland during the Winter War.
The Finnish name of the cross is "Lapin risti".
The bronze Cross pattée has an eyelet for ribbon suspension.
The obverse shows a circular central medallion with the head and shoulders portrait of a soldier in winter combat uniform from behind. He has a rifle slung over his shoulders. In the distance once can see a stylised mountainous landscape.
The reverse is plain.
