Physical Description
A straight armed cross pattée constructed of bronze. The obverse bears a central circular medallion with the crowned cipher "F" for Duke Friedrich II. The reverse bears a central circular medallion with the Roman numeral "XV" (15). On a loop for suspension on a green ribbon.
History
The Army Long Service Decorations were instituted by Duke Friedrich II on January 1, 1914 to replace the Army Long Service Bars.
The Army Long Service Decoration was conferred upon Officers and Enlisted Men who rendered 15 years of irreproachable service in the armed forces. In addition, the cross was also conferred upon members of the police force who rendered 15 years of service.
