Physical Description

A rectangular clasp, constructed of bronze gilt. The obverse is pebbled and features a ‘25’ on the left and the right side, with a crowned Hessian coat of arms in the centre. The four corners are slightly enlarged and each feature a smooth dot. Above the clasp is a firefighter helmet above two crossed firefighter axes. The reverse features a pinback. On a ribbon bar, the ribbon with five dark red and four white stripes.

History

The Fire Service Long Service Bar for 25 Years was founded by Grand Duke Ludwig IV and was conferred upon voluntary firemen who rendered 25 years of meritorious service.
