History
The Carl Anton Commemorative Medal was instituted by Prince Wilhelm of Hohenzollern on September 7, 1911, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his grandfather Prince Carl Anton’s birthday.
The Silver Medal was conferred upon high-ranking officials, clergymen, and individuals with connections to the princes. It was also conferred upon officers from Hohenzollern, as well as commanders of the 26th and 40th regiments, as Carl Anton had led these battalions in his lifetime.
