History
The Long Service Bars were established by Prince Georg Wilhelm in 1850 and were conferred upon non-commissioned officers and soldiers who rendered long and faithful military service. When calculating the number of years served, war years counted for double.
The II Class Silver Bar was conferred for 15 years of service.
1913, the service years required for a II Class award were reduced to 12.
