History
The Hohenzollern Campaign Medal was founded by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV and it was conferred upon officers and soldiers who remained loyal to the king during the rebellions of 1848 and 1849.
In order to receive the award, an individual had to have completed a minimum of 14 days of loyal service in anti-revolutionary battles in Prussia and other German states, from March 1848 to October 1849.
Officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, military doctors, and civil servants were eligible to receive the award.
The medal is associated with the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern.
The Medal for Non-Combatants features no inscription around the circumference of the reverse.
