History
The DAF (Deutsche Arbeitsfront = German Labour Front) was the result of a forced association of all German trade unions, established on May 10, 1933. Its purpose was the coordination and control of all aspects of German labour to serve the interests of the NSDAP. The DAF leader was Reichsleiter Robert Ley.
The NS-Hago was a union for the industrial middle class, promoting small-scale and self-employed trade and craftsmen businesses. It was first founded in December of 1932 and renamed twice, to NS-Hago in August of 1933. The abbreviation stands for Nationalsozialistische Handwerks-, Handels- und Gewerbeorganisation (National Socialist Handicraft, Commercial, and Business Organisation). It was placed under DAF supervision in 1934 and, never being officially dissolved, slowly faded into obscurity.
The NS-Hago emblem features a winged hammer with a static swastika.
