History
The regulations of January 31, 1936 stipulated that the Leaders of the German Youngsters (Jungbannführer and above) were allowed to wear a cap similar to the Ski Cap, but with aluminum piping on the top and the top of the turn-up. The piping was gold-coloured for Jungbannführer and higher ranked staff of the Reichsjugendführung. On this cap, the national emblem was worn instead of the HJ diamond.
On September 30, 1938, a German Youngsters Leader’s Service Cap (DJ-Führerdienstmütze), for winter use only, was officially introduced. It is identical to the earlier version, except that it only had an aluminum cord around the top of the cap.
