History
The Ski Cap was introduced for wear with the ski suit on November 24, 1934. It was to become the standard winter cap for all HJ members on September 26, 1935.
This cap had a soft visor and a turn-up that buckled in the front. The inside was lined with blue-grey rayon and carried a sewn-in RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) control tag. It was supposed to be worn with the HJ diamond, which could be composed of enamel or cloth and worn on the turn-up.
Contrary to the HJ Field Cap, the wearing of the national emblem on the Winter Service Cap was initially forbidden. This changed with the September 30, 1938 regulations which specified that the cap insignia should consist of a metal national emblem and a metal HJ diamond.
