History

The Reichsführerschule (Reich Leader School, RFS) was established in 1932 in Flechtorf under the name of Leo Schlageter School, however, in 1933 it moved to Potsdam and was renamed. The school was meant to be an education and training facility for filling higher HJ leadership positions,

After successfully completing an eight week course, graduates received an insignia to wear over the right breast pocket. It shows the letters RFS in hand-stitched silver-coloured thread, often with a black border, superimposed over a bar of silver-coloured oak leaves. The cloth backing is in one of various shades of brown, including khaki, tan, or olive, for HJ leader, and in dark blue for DJ leaders.
