History
The Military Hospital Detachment North Commemorative & Honour Badge was instituted at an unknown date, but probably in early 1919, by the highest ranking medical Officer of the unit, Dr. Hahn von Dorsche. It was awarded to any unit member who had served for at least four months, beginning not earlier than January 1, 1919. The badge was worn on the left breast.
The badge was manufactured by the company of L. Chr. Lauer, Nuremberg. It is in the form of a cross with pinback. The cross is gilded and features white enamel. In the centre is a red enamelled Geneva cross with a gilt Aesculapius rod.
