History
This Medal was founded by the Presidential Council, and it was awarded to Hungarian in recognition of service that promoted socialism.
There are two main versions of this medal.
The medals conferred from 1953 to 1956 have the 1949-1956 emblem of the Hungarian People’s Republic on the obverse. These medals were awarded to 3318 recipients.
The medals conferred from 1956 to 1989 have the 1957-1989 emblem of the Hungarian People’s Republic on the obverse. These medals were awarded to 20652 recipients.
It was discontinued by the Presidential Council in 1963.
