History
The Medal was founded by Miklos Horthy to commemorate the return of Transylvania to Hungary.
It was awarded to Hungarian Armed Forces personnel who had rendered a minimum of 28 days of service in the occupation of Transylvania from July 2, 1940 to September 30, 1940.
The obverse inscription roughly translates to "In memory of the liberation of parts of Transylvania," and the reverse inscription translates to "500th Birthday of King Matthias."
