History
The Medal of Recognition for International Missions for Army Personnel was established by Grand Duke Henri by Grand Ducal Decree on December 22, 2000. It is awarded to Luxembourgian army personnel for 90 days of irreproachable service in a government-recognized foreign mission. It may be awarded to other Luxembourgians citizens and foreigners for participation in the same missions, but only under exceptional circumstances.
The Silver Medal is worn with a ribbon clasp that denotes the mission in which the recipient participated, and additional clasps are awarded for each additional 90-day service term. A clasp may also be worn to denote the total number of completed terms. The reverse inscription translates to "Luxembourgian Army, For Peace."
