The Service Cross for Prison Guards was established by Grand Duke Jean by Grand Ducal Regulation on January 9, 1979. It is awarded to Luxembourgian prison guards for long and meritorious service. The I Class is for 30 years, II Class for 20 years, and III Class for 10 years of service. All decorations must be returned upon the death of the recipient.
