History
The Order of the Resistance (1940-1944) was established by Grand Duchess Charlotte. It was conferred upon Luxembourgian civilians and foreigners in recognition of distinguished service to the state during the German occupation in the Second World War from 1940-1944. It was also conferred posthumously.
The I Class Cross features an obverse inscription that translates to "I Will Maintain.” The reverse "R" stands for "Resistance."
