History

The Inauguration Medal (1980) was issued by Royal Decree in commemoration of the coronation of Queen Beatrix in 1980. It was awarded to those involved in or present at the ceremony, including employees of the Royal House, guests, and military escorts.

The Silver Medal features a reverse inscription that translates to "Beatrix Queen of the Netherlands." It is believed that approximately 12000 were awarded.
