History


The Bonjol Medal was awarded to native military personnel for meritorious service in the capture of Bonjol in the Padri War.

The Bronze Medal features an obverse inscription in Dutch, part of which translates to "For Bravery and Loyalty.” The reverse inscription is the same as the obverse, but it is written in Malay. A total of 20 were awarded.
