History

Awarded by the Norwegian Veterans' Association for International Operations, this Medal is conferred upon veterans who have rendered services internationally to the UN and NATO, as well as, in recognition of peace efforts.

The Norwegian Veterans' Association for International Operations was previously known as the United Nations Veterans Association, and for that reason this Medal may also be known as the "Medal of the United Nations Veterans Association".
