History

Established in commemoration of the 100 year anniversary of the birth of King Olav V, this Medal was conferred upon the Royal Family, members of the Royal Court, and other individuals who had rendered services, or associated with the King.

The celebration of the King's centenary was on July 2, 2003.

The design of the medal is identical to the Olav V's Commemorative Medal, and the Olav V's Silver Jubilee Medal (See NOR134, and NOR135, respectively, in Medals & Decorations for more information on these medals), although these medals are differentiated by the clasps they are conferred with.
