History

This Medal is conferred by the Police Director, in recognition of police officers, police officials, and civilian personnel who have rendered exceptional behavior and service to the Norwegian police force.

The design of this medal is identical to the Police Service Medal (See NOR139 in Medals & Decorations), but is differentiated by associated clasps on the ribbons. The Police Service Medal consists of either no clasp on the ribbon, or star clasps for associated years of service, whereas, the Police Service Medal with Laurel Branch has a laurel branch shaped clasp on the ribbon.
